Terms of Service — Meal au Chef

These terms govern your use of the Meal au Chef mobile app (“the app”). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

1. Who we are

Meal au Chef is provided by attozoic, based in Serbia. Contact: support@attozoic.dev

2. What the app does

Meal au Chef is a personal recipe management app. It lets you:

• Save and organise recipes (manual entry or AI-powered extraction from a URL or pasted text)
• Plan meals across a 7-day grid
• Generate shopping lists from your meal plans
• Adjust servings and view measurements in metric or US customary units
• Export recipes and weekly plans as PDF

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country) to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• One account per person. Sharing an account or reselling access is not permitted.
• You may delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data on deletion.

4. Subscriptions

4.1. Free tier

The app is free to install and use with the following limit:

• 5 AI recipe extractions per calendar month. All other features (recipe storage, meal planning, shopping lists, PDF export) are available with no limit on the free tier.

4.2. Premium (“Meal au Chef Pro”)

Premium unlocks unlimited AI recipe extractions.

• Two subscription options: monthly and yearly.
• Prices are displayed inside the app in your local currency, set by the App Store or Google Play for your region.
• 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial. After the trial ends, your subscription auto-renews at the selected price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

4.3. Auto-renewal (required Apple / Google disclosure)

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price you originally agreed to.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID / Google account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period continues until it expires.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription (Apple’s rule).

4.4. Refunds

• Refunds are handled by Apple and Google according to their respective policies. We cannot process refunds ourselves.

• Android: Google Play → Account → Payments & subscriptions → Order history → Report a problem

4.5. Price changes

If we change subscription prices, existing subscribers will be notified in advance via the App Store or Google Play mechanisms and will have the opportunity to accept the new price or cancel before it takes effect.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or defeat the free-tier quota or any paywall mechanism
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law
• Use the app to store, share, or extract content that is illegal, infringing, abusive, or harmful
• Automate access to the app (bots, scrapers) or use the app to attack or overload our infrastructure
• Extract recipes at scale for republication or resale — the AI extraction feature is intended for personal recipe management, not commercial data mining
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Your content

• You retain full ownership of the recipes and content you create in the app.
• You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content only to provide the app to you — for example to sync your recipes across your devices, generate shopping lists from your meal plans, and render your images.
• This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
• You are responsible for having the right to store any content you add (e.g. don’t add recipes you know violate someone else’s rights).

7. Recipes extracted from third-party sources

The AI extraction feature parses recipe content from URLs (Instagram posts, blogs, YouTube descriptions, etc.) or text you paste. The original recipes remain the property of their authors.

• We do not claim ownership of extracted content.
• Extraction is intended for personal, non-commercial use — the same kind of personal note you’d take by hand.
• We do not warrant that extracted content is accurate, complete, or free of errors. See section 9.

8. AI extraction — no warranty of accuracy

• AI-generated recipe content (ingredients, quantities, cook times, translations, unit conversions) is provided as-is and may contain errors.
• Always verify quantities and cooking times before cooking, especially for food safety–sensitive dishes.
• The app is not a substitute for medical, dietary, allergen, or nutritional advice. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, double-check every ingredient against the original source.

9. Availability and changes

• We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (including the AI extraction service) at any time. If we make a material change that reduces functionality you paid for, we will refund a pro-rated portion of your subscription where legally required.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot be excluded by law — including personal injury, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.

12. Termination

• You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
• On termination, sections 6 (your content ownership), 8 (AI accuracy), 10 (disclaimer), 11 (liability), and 13 (governing law) survive.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Any dispute arising out of these terms will be resolved in the competent courts of Belgrade, Serbia.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country you live in.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do:

• The new version is posted at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date.
• For material changes, we will notify you via in-app message or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
• Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
